The School Athens a mirror of socity

Art is a univarsal language wich many people effectivly know, no matter where you are you can always understand the idea's, thoughts or the event being shown in the painting. The Scool of Athens is a fresco created by Raphael, where he is speaking to us about the acompleshmints of the Renissance. He shows you all of the important people who made the Renissance such and advanced era such as mathematicians, scientists, and philosophers. In the painting they are all doing what the do best studying, teaching, and speaking with one anothe. Not only does this painting show you people who made the Renissance era speacil but it also shows you how people in the Renissance interacted. They shared ideas and thoughts. This painting also shows you acomplishments that have already been made such as Roman Greek acutecure and how the people of the Renissace brought it back. This painting clearly shows you within its fine deataile how the Renissance was a time of change, re-discoving and discovering knowlge.

If I had the lucky chance to place myself as a person in Raphael’s fresco, The School of Athens I chose to be Hypatia of Alexandria. Hypatia was the first women to make great conurbtions to the Renissace. She conturbuted her knowlege about mathematics, philosophy and astronomy. For Hypatia to do this shows how will power her essance to strive and her drive to be the best. However even though Hypatia was being constantly put down buy the church and others for sharing knowlege beacse she was a girl, he work and her drived to learn has inspierd me in many way.I am a person who speaks thier mind when needed, in class when i have a point to make i say it, i also have a passion to learn more than what we learn in class. When i do this I like to think i am a risk taker and a person who will do what ever they can to get to the finish line. Hypatia, was a great risk taker when she was sharing her ideas in the Renissace knowing all the factors that played against her.Just like Hypatia i to have made contubutions to the world they might not be as big as her but I try and still am to make the world a better place. I truly believe a women like Hypatia is a role modle for young and old women she gives us women a chance of hope that yes we have a say in our world and men are not the only ones.

Somthing That Can Bring Tears To Ones Eyes!

Romeo And Juliet is one of the most memerbal and tragedy themed plays by William Shakespeare. The conspicuous tale taken place in italy, of the imature lovers Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The motive in this play address the issues such as the result of infantile love, hate and antipathy.Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are young teenagers who fall deeply in love. Yet thier familes are swarn enimes. Knowing how great the consucenses would be if the two even spoke of getting married with one onther, they dicide to elope. The two try every effort to cover up their actions. However the bittersweet fable ends in a shock when Romeo and Julet die, due to unsolved anger and revenge.

It is sad to see that in ones modern day socity we still face the elements in Romeo and Juliet. Love what comes to your mind when you say this word? In the neoteric text books love is difend as" A very strong likeing" Yet the truth is, that this one concept love, can and is vewied a thousand differnt ways. How ever what is disapointing that not everyone can love or be with the one they urne for. Race religoune or social statuse is what keeps them apart. It is not everyday when one finds a couple of differnt religions or cutlure even race. For example a muslim with a Christian or a Jew, And when we do, the stroy is so advertised as if they have done a crime. This is sad to see. We are all humans and should learn to exepet each other for who and what we are. We should not look at what we don't have and how we are differnt but what makes us alike and what we can bring to the table.

A Grater Way of Life

Destiny
Smuggles her way into your heart
Sheltered in a sheet of hope and faith
Leavening with an immense consequence.

Destiny plays a marjor theme in the story the Alchemist. Choelho gives a the messsage that everyone no matter where you are who you are, you all have some sort of destiny to fallow. He tells you that your heart is one of the most powerfull divise that will help you to gain knowlage of you destiny."Every person has a treasure out there meant for them, but you must be willing to go after it to succeed" Choelho. The story the Alchemist lets you believe that there is always a grater meaning to life, and that everyone, when they look a little deeper will find thier grater meaning. How ever in the story Choelho does write that people who only seek thier money for wealth will never truly gain satisfaction and won't always be happy. It's no correct that if you have found your destiny you are succecfull and you have done everything you can with your time on earth. It's that once you have found your destiny you use the knowlage you have gained from finding it, to do better in you later years.

Every Action Makes A difference

vincent van gogh (Starry Night)

Life is a shipwreck but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboats. ~Voltaire

Like Santiago I to have a destiny,to impact someones life immensely in a positive way. Even though I haven't accomplished this dream of mine I know that with my positive attitude I will. I always try to remain positive no matter what the situation is and keep a smile on my face. Even though at times I'm not always happy and smiling i hope people see beyond my bad moments. There have been many times where i have stayed positive when everyone else is in a abominable mood. For example on Malaysia week, we were climbing the mountain and everyone was tired and angry. I trying to remain on the positive side kept making jokes and trying my best to help people along the way. Yet I was with out a doubt feeling very exhausted. I know that to many people I'm probably just a girl who stays up the whole night fussing on what she should wear the next day, the girl who could spend more time on her makeup then her homework, or the girl who cares more about her social status then her GPA. So this year I am trying my best to step up to the plate and change what people think of me. I do this by actually giving time to my school work by not making such a big deal about my outer appearance, so far it is working! It's working because through this process I have been staying positive by waking up everyday and telling my self "Mehza you doing the best you can, smiling and saying hi to others in the hall way can brighten up someone's day!"

“My heart is afraid that it will have to suffer” This is a passage spoken by Santiago to the alchemist. At this point in the story Santiago is confused and telling the Alchemist that his heart is not yet ready for the challenge of him pursuing his destiny and that he doesn’t know what to do about the situation. Many people know that they have a destiny and many people have been able to achieve theirs. The main character Santiago, a young shepherd with a dream to travel the world, is trapped in a small village located in Andalusia, Spain. One day he dreams about going to the great Pyramids to find treasure. This dream leads him to series of events that teach him a few lifelong lessons and to many inspirational people. Being inquisitive, determined, and brave, Santiago is able to find his destiny.
Throughout his journey Santiago has asked many important questions; these questions have led him to find his destiny. The majority of the questions Santiago asks are to the certain people he meets. In the beginning of the story Santiago asks Melchizedek, “Why are you telling me this?’’ This quote is when Santiago first starts his chase after his destiny. Melchizkedek came up to Santiago at the plaza and begins to talk to him about his personal legend and tells him a story about a man who found happiness by fulfilling his. Since Santiago is only human he questions Melchizkedek statements and asks him more about his so called personal legend. For Melchizkedek to introduce Santiago to this whole idea that he has a personal legend really made the boy determined to find his own.
Santiago gets inspired and from then on is determined to find his destiny. As Santiago sets off towards the pyramids, he learns that he must sacrifice a lot including his current lifestyle as being a shepherd. So Santiago sells all his sheep and begins his journey. At first Santiago is lost; he does not even know where he is going, until he goes to Tangier, Africa. However it isn’t the best choice he could make because Santiago gets robbed by a thief and is left with no money. All alone and in this whole new world with no one to comfort him, Santiago states, “I’m an adventurer looking for treasure.” So Santiago goes on with his journey. This quote shows you how resolute the boy actually is in finding his treasure and how badly he wants it. So Santiago finds a crystal shop. To get all his money back Santiago has no choice but to work for the shop. Within a year the shop owner and Santiago have become very good friends. Santiago inspires the shop owner and therefore improves his business immensely. For example, the boy tells the crystal merchant to put up a cabinet full of crystal to attract customers. Though the owner has many doubts about this idea he still listens to Santiago. As a result more customers come to buy the crystal. Business becomes so great that Santiago gathers enough money to cover his losses. Very gloomy about the year lost Santiago stays on track and tries to continue his quest on his destiny. On his way Santiago meets an Englishman, who searches for the knowledge about alchemy. He also meets a group of people that are headed to the pyramids and joins them on their caravan journey. Meeting the Englishman and seeing his passion for knowledge and his relentless quest to uncover the secrets of alchemy, Santiago is even more motivated to find his destiny. After a few months they all arrive at an oasis were Santiago meets a girl named Fatima and falls in love with her, thinking he has found his personal legend and he currently understands one aspect of the soul of the world, love. Meanwhile a war is about to start at the oasis and a masked stranger, the alchemist, reveals himself to Santiago. From this point on Santiago has to become courageous in the choices left to come with the Alchemist there to watch him.
Santiago does not want to leave the desert. He is madly in love with Fatima and feels that leaving her is impossible. However Santiago stays brave and doesn’t give in to his emotions. “I’ll return, just as your father came back to your mother,” he says. So far Santiago is explaining to Fatima that he is leaving because his destiny is not at the oasis but at the pyramids. Later on the boy and the alchemist leave the oasis and head to the Pyramids. However on their journey they are taken captive by a rival tribe and are held at an enemy camp. The alchemist tells the tribal leader that Santiago is an alchemist and that he can change himself into the wind. The tribal leader is shocked to hear that such a young boy can do this great task so he is put to the test. If Santiago cannot turn himself into the wind, he and the alchemist face death. After three days of consulting with nature, the wind, the sun, and the desert, Santiago succeeds in the challenge. Exited to leave, Santiago and the Alchemist ride on their horses for hours until they reach a small old church near the pyramids and ask a monk if they can use the kitchen. The alchemist takes some lead and turns it into gold in a frying pan. Then he takes the gold disk and splits it between the boy and the monk, leaving some for himself. The alchemist explains that this was his personal legend. The alchemist tells Santiago that this is where they go their separate ways. “’Good-bye’ said the boy.” Now that Santiago does not have the guidance and support of the alchemist he must be brave and find the courage within himself to finish his journey. So Santiago heads to the pyramids. However, he sees a dung beetle on the ground. He believes it’s an omen and begins to dig there because Santiago thinks the treasure is near. After hours of digging, bruised, frustrated, and hopeless is what Santiago has become. He sees a group of men coming his way. In a panic mode Santiago does not know what to do and is worried that they will steal the gold given by the alchemist or take his treasure. The men do attack Santiago. After hurting him they ask why he thinks there would be treasure here. Santiago hopelessly explains his dreams and the muggers begin to laugh. As the men leave one stays behind for a moment and tells Santiago about a dream he had- That there is a treasure buried under a Sycamore tree in the yard of a church in Spain- but that he never was stupid enough to go to Spain and find it. Santiago is angry and shocked because he knows what church the man is talking about. It is the church Santiago slept in and it is the first place Santiago was when he started his journey. So he heads to Spain to find his treasure. He digs in the church. At last he finds the treasure.
Santiago is very brave when it comes to finding his treasure. He is brave emotionally and physically, he questions people he isn’t sure of and he is determined no matter what comes his way. The three traits that Santiago has in his character allow him to finish his journey and to find love and a greater meaning in life. Finding his destiny, Santiago is left being more confident and grown-up. This story gives everyone a message of hope. For Santiago ending up where he began is a message that tells us that sometimes your treasure can be right there in front of you.

How To Get People Too Join

We all getting people to join a club or a activity can become a hassle. Just recently my global issues class made a deal with Connies (the lunch lady) about and eco friendly deal. Here the deal for every 3 plastic containers you bring you will resive one baked treat. Now the whole idea of the deal is to get our Iskl community to cut back on the consumption of plastic. However the only problem is that many of the students are not being pro active and taking charge of this new idea. Why because some feel they are being ripped off. They are saying why should I pay 15 ringgit for three fruit boxes and get a baked treat only for 1 ringgit. Also many of them tend to lose their ticket. Yet most of them are just to lazy o walk over to connies and give her the boxes. So this makes it very hard for us because how are we going to reduce our plastic intake when all the students are not being involved. Another problem we are facing is getting the word around. Many of us have told our teachers about this and stuck posters but noth many people stop to read the posters or listen to their teachers. Now getting people to give the boxes back isn't as big of a problem as getting people to by fruit. No many peopl even by the fruit for starters and they are probably thinking why should i start now? All these problems start by the wrong thinking of our community people. Yet if we all should try and make a change we will get there some day.

Mehzalisim

I would create a government that pleases everyone. It works like this. First there will be a group of leaders who gather ideas for varied topics. Such as the money of the country the wars, the work places and ect. Each person will have the task to come forward with ideas to stop the problem they see in their topic. at the metting the group will vote on the best resolution. After every 6 years the people will not be in power and the citizens must vote for the next group of people. Also the taxes will only cut off 7 percent of your salary.

THE SWINE FLUE?

If you have flu symptoms, stay home, and when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue. Afterward, throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands. That will help prevent your flu from spreading.

If you've got flu symptoms, and you've recently been to a high-risk area like Mexico, then it is recomended to go and visit a doctor. Keep in mind that your doctor will not be able to determine whether you have swine flu, but he or she would take a sample from you and send it to a state health department lab for testing to see if it's swine flu. If your doctor suspects swine flu, he or she would be able to write you a prescription for Tamiflu or Relenza. Those drugs may not be required; U.S. swine flu patients have made a full recovery without it.

KATIE SNAPPS

It has been such a long time scene Lynn has been sick. She is completely incapable of completing any tasks for herself. So for Katie being the younger sister she is forced to perform them for Lynn. One night Lynn woke up Katie to go and fetch her a glass of water. Katie pops up out of bed and gets it for her. When she comes back with the water Lynn had a very rude attitude towards Katie’s generation. Then Lynn tells Katie to get her milk and then water. Katie’s temper began to flare. She was very happy to do these tasks for Lynn but now it seemed Lynn was just trying to make Katie work harder. As Katie comes back with the drinks she finally snaps. With accelerating anger stress she throws the two dinks onto the new family rug. Katie eventually began to yell at Lynn saying “I HATE YOU” and many harm full word. Lynn wasn’t going to take this from her little sister so she fired back at Katie. In the story never have Katie and Lynn been so verbally violent to each other. At this point you can really see the separation between their relationships.

CULTURAL RESPONSE

Over the few days my partner and I have been studying a tribe called the Sioux Tribe. They are very interesting people. With a population of only 20,000 they still hold a unique bond and have special cultural that hold many morals and character traits. They are located among the great plains in America. Studying them I have been very inspired by how strong they are to their beliefs. Even by being influenced by the new generations they still have the same ceremonies and feasts. Because I know for a fact if I started to surround myself by a new atmosphere i would change and fallow the new modified beliefs.

LYNN IS CHANGING!

After moving to Georgia Lynn found a new best friend or you can say second. At first, Katie accepts this with all the generosity of a child who admires and loves her older sister. It's not so easy to understand, though, when Lynn and Amber begin "walking around the living room with books on their heads", giggling and whispering about boys all the time. Katie is glad Lynn has a friend, but sometimes she wishes that Lynn had more time to just be spending time with Katie."Lynn came back and told me she french kissed a boy"! This was when Lynn came back from camping with a Amber and exposed to Katie she had french kissed. She swore she wold never. "Sammy and I had a race to see who could stuff the most chicken in their mouth. Stop it Katie its not laddie like!" Lynn always aloud Katie to do what she pleased but now that Katie isn't being lady like Lynn is getting mad. This is due to the influence Amber is putting on Lynn.

Parent Interviews

Interviewing my parents has really helped me understand two different facts. The first fact is how adolescents was back then and what I should be expecting going into adolescents. I could not believe the memories my dad was telling be about his teen journey there were so different compared to what I am going through. I figured out that it would actually be a fun time. When my dad was going through adolescents he had so much more responsibilities then me and also had much more scene when he was my age. I learned a lot more about him for example what he did for fun when he was a kid his like and dislike. IT SEEMED LIKE HE WAS A HOLE OTHER PERSON!

Frim

We just got back from our Frim trip. The trip was ok not the best situation you can put some one in but you know what they say you got to make the best of what you have. Over all the only part I really enjoyed was the hike. I didn't mind the social aspect of the trip because many of my friends were there. So it wasn't that boring. Although I must say I didn't like the fact how we had groups to do our four activities. Why, because in my group there was only one more girl and the rest were boys. So basically the whole time I only had was one friend with me. I can't complain that bad because I did make amends with some of them and it was quite fun. However when I got back to the camp ground I had no clue what my friends were talking about because they were all in the same group and had done everything together.

KIRA KIRA!

Glittering. That’s how Katie Takeshima’s sister, Lynne, makes everything seem. The heavens is kira-kira since its colour is deep but see-through at the similar time even peoples eyes the sea as well. When Katie and her family move from a Japanese community in Iowa to the Deep South of Georgia, it’s Lynn who explains to her why people stop them on the street to stare. And it’s Lynn who, with her special way of screening the world, teaches Katie to look beyond tomorrow. Moving to Iowa will be very hard for Kati and Lynn. They will need to try and fit in. This is not like fitting in just at school but also in the town. The two must learn the racial aspect of the town. How blacks are unwanted and how they are among the fewest of Japanese. Also paying bills and what they really wanted getting a house.

"If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it." William Arthur Ward

TO set a goal is to set a challenge that hopefully one day you will complete. although the first step to set the goal is to know what your goal is. you know that by dreaming about it. then the last step is to achieve it. Achieving the goal is the hardest part. Yet with the right determination and streght you surly can achive your goal. This is what the quote is telling me. But mabey to you the meassage is differnt. However there is no dout this is a very powerfull quote.
